How did I get to this?

And now I've entered the blogging world...I'm off to the races

How did I get started and what I'm I creating?  I'm creating a concept book and method of selling called MOTIVATIONAL SELLING- SELLING THE DREAM.  I will get into what it is in later blogs.  I want you all to know how I've come into the motivation game and how the world of personal development has effected me.
First and foremost to motivate we should all be motivated.  We must "practice what we preach" in order to get people to reach for higher levels in life.  This is my goal (amongst many).  This is my journey into this HUGE world of personal development.
While shuffling through our bedroom a few years ago, I kicked a book that was laying under our bed, that was put there during the move into our new house about 6 or 7 years ago.  It was a book on business that was given to my wife by my very successful father in law.  The book kind of lost it's way.  I had noticed it before, but as usual I had just ignored it.  Why?  Well at that time my biggest priority was waking up 15 minutes before leaving for work, getting through my day and getting home so I could watch as much TV as possible.
Something hit me one day and that was to pick up the book and I told myself I was going to read this book from start to finish.  The thing I want you to know was I never really read any books before.  When I was 18 I read a manual on bodybuilding and that was about it.  It took me a day or two before I opened it.  I was quite a slow reader but at one point in the book something caught me.

"The customer is not always right"
Wow, what??  Somebody was thinking the same as I was.  I had been in sales and had a pretty bad attitude towards customers.  The more I read, the more I realized the comment wasn't being made in a bad way.  It was in an intellectual way, as to why the customer isn't always right. From there I wanted to find more information on business.  I have no schooling past high school, so studying books on business seems so intelligent as a choice.  Book after book I started reading more about positive attitude I got into personal development buying more and more books, till one day my cupboard where I kept my clothes was too full to keep my collection.  We needed a bookshelf, now my bookshelf is too full.  There are so many audio collections and books everywhere it gets me excited.I must admit the books that I've avoided the most have been the most influential in my life.  The holy grail of the personal development movement was looking at me for 2 years before I opened it.  It when from our closet, to bed side to inside the night stand.  "Why would I ever want to read this book?"  I asked myself, that book THINK AND GROW RICH.  If you are unaware of this piece of work....Well, never mind I won't tell you, just read it.A mentor I've come across is a man by the name of Jim Rohn, a master at his craft who has taught me about perception.  How we look at things, when he showed his mentor his paycheck at 25 years of age he explained "this is all the company pays" his mentor looked at him and said"no this is all they pay you.  Isn't there people in that same company that they pay three times as much?"  It's all about what you bring to the marketplace..Meaning the real world, if your not that valuable to an organization why should you be paid like the people who do make a difference.  Ask yourself that question, is there more I could be doing?  If you can't think of anything personal development is where you NEED to look too. From everything I've studied, my confidence has increased, my skills are much better and I'm much better at my job.  I'm just letting you know a bit.  The tip of the iceburg you could say.  I've got so many things that I will be letting you know about in the next few months, I'm excited to get on the next part of my journey, and I want you all to come along with me.
